I interviewed Mark and his nephew, Steve at a local diner in Dutchess County regarding their Bigfoot encounters here in N.Y. & P.A.
Their first encounter was in April 2016 at a location called Sistine Mountain in Dutchess County, N.Y.
When they arrived at the mountain they took the fire trail up to the fire tower.
While climbing the trail, they were told by a friend that if they wanted a Bigfoot encounter they should play children laughing or imitate a baby crying.
I suggested they never do that again and when they go in the future, they should go with with Native American Ceremony which is a flute or a drum ceremony to try to draw the Sasquatches in.
On the way down from the fire tower it began to get dark. There were high ridgelines paralleling the trail on either side. The only thing the men were carrying was flashlights and bear spray for protection. They went about another 100 feet when they heard a roar come from the ridgeline that lasted about 30 seconds. They could hear the creature sucking in a breath that seemed like it took a minute. After that encounter, two more roars went right through them. At that point, the men decided to skedaddle and they began to run down the trail to their car. When Mark decided to stop running, he and and Steve decide to go back up the trail to see what scared the daylights out of them. Once back at the original location, they looked around but saw nothing so they decided to leave.
The next encounter takes place in Erie, P.A. at the end of June 2017. Mark and Steve decided to camp out in a very well-known Sasquatch hot spot. When they arrived, they parked and began to hear something walking behind the car in the woods. After experiencing some hunger pains, they decided to cook some hot dogs for dinner.
To Mark’s astonishment, he heard a moan come from the woods and decided to throw some hot dogs into that area. Mark then decided that they will sleep in the car overnight and try to lure the creatures out to get a photo. Mark places fours stick in each direction of the car with a hot dog on each stick. He also put additional hotdogs & Oreo’s on a picnic table as a backup.
While sitting in the car waiting to see if the creatures would come out for the food, they seen a white orb flashing in front of a tree. They get out seeing what the orb was and when they get to the location of the orb, it blinks off. When they get back to the car, they notice that the hotdog that was by the passenger door is gone but the stick is still standing upright. Mark notices a large handprint on the front window and both Mark and Steve cannot believe that the creature has snuck in and had taken a hotdog without anyone hearing or seeing it.
As the night goes on, this scenario continues over and over again and again; every time the creature takes a hotdog, it purposely leaves a handprint on the back window.
Mark describes the handprint with fingers as huge as sausages. They believe the orbs were distractions that the creatures can create so that they can sneak in and out of camp without being noticed.
After a long night and feeling exhausted, the two men fell asleep in the car and when they awoke in the morning, the only hotdog left on the stick was the one that was set up in front of the car which happens to be the direction that the two men were facing! After further review, they found that all the hotdogs on the picnic table were eaten but the amazing thing was that the Oreo’s were all twisted apart and only the cream was eaten; not one cookie was broken.
