The Canadian military is investigating a strange pinging noise emanating from the sea floor near a remote outpost in the Arctic. The noise – which has been described as a “ping”, “hum”, and “beep” – has been heard in the Fury and Hecla Strait, roughly 120 kilometers (75 miles) northwest of Igloolik, for several months now.

“It wouldn’t be the first time that I have come across hidden objects inside sound waves.”

Bryan Bowden, the head of technology for the Bronxville Paranormal Society BPS, has been following this event with a curiosity. Bowden believes there is a potential for a hidden messsage to be found in the sounds emanating under the arctic. “It wouldn’t be the first time that I have come across hidden objects inside sound waves.” Bowden goes on to say that; “civilizations, throughout time, have been using steganography to keep a secret. We came across a rather strange sound on our Nuclear Lake investigation that did yield several pictures within the spectrums.”

The use of steganography came to the forefront during the U.S. War On Terror. Terrorist started using steganography to hide detailed plans of attack and other good information inside pictures. And not to be out done, both the Entertainment and Marketing industries made use of steganography and several of their ventures.

“We came across a rather strange sound on our Nuclear Lake investigation that did yield several pictures within the spectrums.”

Several marketing firms have used the process as a breadcrumb trail for some fans of well known intellectual properties. Leading them to specific websites and/or pages to try to figure out a puzzle relating to the marketing of products and movies. Yet the use of steganography has most notably found in the movie Independence Day, where Jeff Goldblumes character, discovered the countdown clock in the transmissions from the UFO’s

“I’m confident that there are messages in these sounds. I have started running a few tests and discovered some interesting patterns which need to be looked into further. Said Bowden. “I guarantee something is going to come from this but what it is, I have yet to figure out. But you can bet I’m gonna give it my best.”
